Hospice Agencies Willing to Take on Additional Regulatory Pressure to Ensure Ethical Care

For Hospice agencies in California, the rise of taking on additional regulatory scrutiny is gaining traction. The California State Auditor revealed in a recent report that due to weak oversight, fraud and abuse have become widespread for hospice agencies; so much so that agencies are willing to take on additional regulatory pressure.

Sarah McSpadden, CEO of Elizabeth Hospice, sat down with Hospice News and discussed the rise of regulatory pressure in California, the cases of abuse and fraud in Hospice care, and how they should be handled.
