CMS Update: Expanded HHVBP Model

On January 1, 2022, CMS implemented the expanded HHVBP model to include Medicare-certified Home Health Agencies (HHAs) in all fifty states, Washington DC, and U.S. territories. The calendar year, 2022, will be the pre-implementation year.

CMS will provide resources and training to give agencies time to prepare and learn about the requirements of the expanded HHVBP model. The first full performance year will begin in 2023, and 2025 will be the first payment year with adjustment amounts based on the 2023 performance year.
